China's consulate general in LA launches photo exhibition in celebration of CPC's 100th birthday
China's Consulate General in Los Angeles launched an online photo exhibition on Friday to celebrate the upcoming 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Communist's Party of China.
The photo exhibition, which features the centennial history of China's Communist Party (CPC), is a joint-collaboration between the consulate general and China's State Council Information Office.
"This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Over the past 100 years, the CPC has endured great hardship in its pioneer cause and undertaken a magnificent historical journey. In the century long strive, the CPC remained firmly committed to its aspiration and forged ahead relentlessly, which accomplished today's glory," said Zhang Ping, China's consul general in Los Angeles.
The envoy said he hopes the exhibition will helps to promote the public's understanding of the CPC.
China's CPC was born as China was embroiled in domestic turmoil and external threats; amid struggle of the Chinese people fighting against feudal rule and foreign aggression; and along with the integration of Marxism with the Chinese workers' movement, Zhang said.
Its founding profoundly changed the history of China in modern times, the fate and future of the Chinese people and the nation, and the direction and pattern of world development, he said.
"From the date of its birth, the CPC set its aspiration and mission to seek happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation. By uniting and leading the Chinese people and through painful struggle, it founded the People's Republic of China," Zhang said.
Under the leadership of the CPC, the Chinese people "completed the broadest and most profound social transformation in the history of the Chinese nation, embarked on the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, created economic and social development miracles with remarkable achievements," the envoy said.
China "has made great strides" in its economic, science-tech, overall national strength, and people's living standard, Zhang said.
The CPC is committed to a people-centered approach and regard as its goal the people's aspirations to live a better life, he said.
