Top 10 strongest telecom infrastructure brands
Huawei took the crown as the most valuable telecom infrastructure brand in the world, and four Chinese companies won spots in the top 10, making clear headway in the international telecom industry, according to Telecoms 150, the annual report released on April 1 by Brand Finance, the world's leading independent brand valuation consultancy.
Huawei, ranking first, achieved a brand value of $83.2 billion in 2020, falling 1.3 percent from a year earlier, followed by US companies Corning and Qualcomm, with brand values at 77.4 billion and 75.7, respectively.
According to analysis in the report, the next big opportunity for the telecom infrastructure industry lies in the 5G sector, which has ignited fierce competition globally. Huawei is expanding into markets traditionally covered by Western providers.
Four telecom infrastructure companies made the list, including ZTE in seventh place, Zhongtian Technology Group in eighth and Hengtong Group in tenth.
The report also noted as the work from home revolution has prompted huge demand, the COVID-19 outbreak will have a limited impact on the telecom industry.
Brand Finance calculates the value of brands by using the Royalty Relief approach – a brand valuation method compliant with the industry standards set in ISO 10668, which involves the brand strength index, brand royalty rate and brand revenue.
