China, DPRK celebrate 70 years of ties with exhibition
An exhibition celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea kicked off in the National Library of China on Dec 18.
The event, co-organized by Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China and DPRK Embassy in China, displays dozens of pictures, books, and stamps in the past seven decades to hail the friendship and mutual support between the two countries throughout different generations of leadership.
The frequent mutual visits of the two country's state leaders in recent years compose another highlight of the exhibition through pictures to reflect the vitality of bilateral relationship.
This year also marks the 60th anniversary of an intergovernmental agreement reached between China and DPRK in cultural communication. China's Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Zhang Xu said concrete cooperation in culture and tourism between the two countries will be continuously expanded and deepened to embrace an even brighter future of China-DPRK relation and maintain the lasting peace and common prosperity of the region.
DPRK's Ambassador to China Ji Jae-ryong noted at the opening ceremony of the exhibition that the event offered an opportunity for the traditional friendship between his country and China to be further developed.
The exhibition will last until Dec 24.
