She insists the human eye can see the difference between handmade and machine-made products, and added handmade products have soul and emotion.

"What we absolutely love is every single product made by hand is slightly different than the other, because it's not coming from the mold, but is a piece of unique work a from an independent person," Belli said. "The process of hand-making gives additional value to the products, because people can feel and own the uniqueness."

Based on research, Belli found Chinese consumers are not just looking for smaller jewelry, but also could be into something bold and daring, like colorful and larger-sized jewelry from Pomellato.

"I think that is what a luxury brand should do - bring consumers surprise and pleasure."
