Many Chinese visitors to Italy's pavilion at the second China International Import Expo were excited to spot a TV personality, Mattia Romeo, there over the past week.
Romeo, an Italian who has been living in China for the past 13 years, speaks fluent Mandarin and is a regular on Chinese TV shows. At both the inaugural and second CIIE, he was invited by the Italian Trade Agency to host forums on behalf of his country, as well as meet with Chinese visitors interested in Italy.
Italy was one of the guest countries of honor at the second CIIE. When asked about Italy's presence at the CIIE and its relations with China in general, Romeo is clear that he particularly values a dialogue between cultures.
