CIIE roadshow lands in Lanzhou
The second China International Import Expo (CIIE) is expected to take place in Shanghai this November. In anticipation, Lanzhou, capital city of Northwest China's Gansu province, hosted a roadshow on Sept 6.
Following a series of provincial capitals and major cities across the country, Lanzhou became the 16th stop of a nationwide tour of roadshows to recruit buyers for the second CIIE, with a particular focus on those from small- and medium-sized private enterprises.
The Lanzhou roadshow featured the expo's Exhibitions on Equipment and Food and Agricultural Products. Business representatives from Heraeus Group, a German multinational and leading provider of precious metals products, and Swan Wine Group, one of Australia's largest wine exporters, shared their plans on-site to attend the upcoming expo.
Ren Fukang, deputy director of the Gansu provincial department of commerce, said that a total of 514 institutions and 1,400 individuals from Gansu province attended the inaugural CIIE last year. As a result, 47 Gansu-based companies have signed $3.2 billion worth of trade deals with around 60 exhibitors from abroad. The scale of buyers from Gansu province is expected to grow even larger at this year's expo.
According to the CIIE Bureau, visitor registration for the second CIIE will end on Sept 30.
