Javier Solana, former secretary-general of NATO and current president of the ESADE Center for Global Economy and Geopolitics, shares his views with China Daily about global multiculturalism through cooperation on the sidelines of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations.
Solana said the world we are living in is multipolar, and therefore we should try to make the mixture of cultural diversity produce something which is cooperation.
With respect to the cultural confrontations that sometimes emerge around the world, Solana holds a positive attitude. "I think that this type of confrontation could be a manner of pushing the cooperation among different people," said Solana.
