Season brings sakura-inspired fare
In Japan, spring is the time for sakura blossoms. Hotel New Otani Chang Fu Gong in Beijing has launched a sakura-themed afternoon tea. Drawing inspiration from the jewelry of Japanese brand Kajita, the dessert chef has created delicacies that include Italian steamed vegetables with tomato cheese on waffles; tuna salad with tiger shrimp on toast; sakura bean jelly; diamond chocolate; white coconut mousse; and matcha scones.
