Microsoft chairman encouraged by Xi’s words on further opening-up

Hsiao-Wuen Hon, chairman of Microsoft’s Asia-Pacific Research and Development Group, said he feels excited and encouraged by President Xi Jinping’s remarks about further opening China to the world.

President Xi clearly identified the future strategic direction of being more open and elaborated new efforts to build a better investment environment, which is already very pro-business, said Hon, who is also the corporate vice-president of Microsoft.

Xi also highlighted China’s determination to protect intellectual property. This move will have a tremendously positive impact on global trade, he added.

According to him, Microsoft, with businesses in China for more than 20 years, has benefited a lot from the country’s reform and opening-up policies.
