The traveling quack salesman, Dulcamara arrives, selling his bottled "love potion" to the townspeople. Nemorino drinks it, but his confidence causes him to act indifferently towards her. This upsets Adina and she agrees to Belcore's proposal. The heart-broken sees the doctor and begs him for another "love potion".
